Floradix Iron Tablets Review
This manufacturer is one of oldest in the industry and was founded in 1916 based on the principle of producing top quality supplements using the best available raw herbs and natural fruits. They claim their products are manufactured to the highest possible standards – which is always something to look for.
Unfortunately, we found no industry certifications on the label, it is not vegan-friendly, nor does it have a satisfaction guarantee. With this in mind, we were curious to delve into what ingredients this company chose to create their formula of the ultimate Iron tablet.
Is Floradix Iron Tablets Effective?
Unfortunately we did not find any online testimonials for this product, so the only information we have is the list of ingredients in the formula. It contains 14 mg of Iron Ferrous Gluconate, a more soluble form of Iron in the recommended daily quantity. It contains a nice range of B vitamins that include Thiamin, Riboflavin, Nicotinamide and Vitamin B6. These are a nice bonus but not necessarily what we would look for in an Iron supplement. However, the manufacturer does include Vitamin B12 to combat deficiencies although the amount is significantly lower than the amount we recommend, so with just 2.5 mcg per daily serving, we’re not sure it would be very effective.
Additionally, Floradix Iron Tablets contain Folate, an essential component of hemoglobin as well as Vitamin C which helps boost Iron absorption. The amount of Vitamin C included is relatively low, at just 30 mg per daily serving as opposed to our first product choice which contains 90 mg per daily serving. One of the biggest downsides to this product, and also a big part of the reason we placed it third, is that it has a lot of added ingredients that have absolutely no nutritional value or significance such as beeswax, glazing agents and maize starch, to name a few. We see no reason to add these valueless ingredients to a supplement where the aim should be to keep supplements as ‘clean’ as possible from additives.
In contrast, there are a couple of ingredients that we felt were missing from this formula, such as Vitamin A to help facilitate better Iron absorption, and a thermogenic enhancer like black pepper to speed up the results. Based on all these factors we’re not convinced this product is as effective as it could be, and unfortunately without customer reviews, it is impossible to come to a foregone conclusion.
Is Floradix Iron Tablets Safe?
There are no mentioned side effects of taking this product. As with any new supplement or diet introduced into your daily life, we always advise talking to your healthcare professional about possible contraindications of any pre-existing medical conditions or medications that you are taking. Supplements work differently for everyone and the effects vary between individuals so it is always a good idea to run any health changes by a professional.
Summary
This European-manufactured product is certainly on the right track to being a top-quality anemia supplement. However there are a number of obstacles to clear its way until it gets there. We like the ingredients but we don’t believe they are in sufficient quantities to be truly effective. We would have liked to see a higher amount of Vitamin C and Vitamin B12. We also would have liked to see the addition of Vitamin A and black pepper. Moreover, we did not find any cGMP certification or mention of third-party testing. We also would have liked to see the manufacturer offer a satisfaction guarantee to at least instill some sort of confidence in the consumer when trying to convince them to buy the product. Overall, we think Floradix is heading the right direction, but at this point in time, there are other options on the market that rank higher.
